Addressing Our Challenges Together

I am a firm believer in a humble, team-oriented approach to leadership. I don't believe any one person has all the answers, but I do believe that by combining my professional expertise with the collective wisdom of our residents, we can find a way forward. We are currently facing a two-fold challenge: a tightening financial landscape and a pressing need for housing solutions.

To tackle these, I believe we must look at multiple avenues simultaneously:

Prioritizing Revenue Growth: We have reached a point where we simply cannot "cut our way" out of our financial constraints. To maintain the quality of life we cherish in Swampscott, we must focus on new revenue growth. This means looking at our land and our assets with a developer’s eye for untapped potential.

Proactive Housing Solutions: Our housing issues are not new, but they have been left unaddressed for too long. We need a fresh approach that respects the character of our town while ensuring that we remain a viable, accessible place for families and individuals at all stages of life.

Diverse Problem Solving: My approach is intentionally diverse. Whether it is navigating the complexities of building envelopes or restructuring the financial viability of a site, I am prepared to apply "outside the box" thinking to our municipal budget and zoning needs.

An Invitation to Our Community

I believe that the challenges ahead of us can be overcome, but they require a new energy and a fresh perspective. I am offering myself as that new approach, but I cannot do it in a vacuum. Leadership is about listening as much as it is about acting.

I am personally inviting every Swampscott resident who has first-hand experience with the issues facing our town today—whether you are struggling with housing costs, concerned about our financial sustainability, or have ideas for how we can grow—to join me in this effort. Our community is our greatest resource, and your insights are the most valuable tools we have.
